Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, part of the Rockies, offers our 321 school groups a unique experience in a resort that is untouched by other British school groups. If you fancy trailblazing in an extensive, champagne powdery resort then perhaps Kicking Horse is for you!
Kicking Horse was founded on excellent snow retention due to the mountain's North-East facing slopes, and super dry low level air currents. The result? World famous powder snow that is the envy of most of the North American ski industry.
Every season new trails are created, and the resort currently boasts over 100 trails.
321 pupils start on the gondola called the Golden Eagle Express, and this high speed uplift rises from the base area to the peak. Three main areas can then be accessed: CPR Ridge, Crystal Bowl and Bowl Over. CPR Ridge is an intermediate area that links the two 'Bowls'; Crystal Bowl is large and open which makes it attractive to beginners whilst Bowl Over provides moguls and steep technical slopes.
Other areas that our school ski trip parties ski into include White Wall, Feuz Bowl and Redemption Ridge with other chair lifts, and further along Terminator Ridge and Terminator Peak are served by a further two lifts.
All of the trails are augmented by significant backcountry expanse which doubles the area for the most proficient. Finally, due to the efficient uplift and size of resort queues are rare, even during peak weeks.
As the only UK school ski trip tour operator to serve the resorts with school groups you can be sure of a unique experience and if you are lucky you'll have some of the best snow you've ever skied on!
