Les Contamines is in the shadow of Mt Blanc and enjoys its own special micro-climate of reliable snowcover from mid December to end of April. The snow sure slopes, friendly town and excellent navigation on the mountain makes this resort one of the best in Europe for safeguarding.

Les Contamines is divided into two areas which are fully interlinked: Val Montjoie and Hauteluce - Val Joly. The former is best for beginners and intermediates, whilst the Hauteluce - Val Joly is geared more towards the advanced. This set up allows for effective progressve learning on our school ski trips to Les Contamines.

North facing, the 8 person chairlift whisks pupils up to the first level, Etape, and a further mid-section, Le Signal, from which the ski school and further lifts take you to different areas of the ski areas. It is also possible to ski direct back to the village.

The local 120km ski pass allows skiing in Les Contamines from mid December to late April which most schools find entirely appropriate for the week, but for a supplement it is possible to access a further 490 pistes as part of the colossal Mont Blanc ski pass.

Technical skiers are rewarded with four snowparks and steep slopes in Val Joly on their Les Contamines school ski trip.
