Stoneham Mountain Resort is only just over 20 minutes from Quebec City. Although the resort is famous for freestyle and training Olympic standard snowboarders, the mountain also offers school groups scope and variety.
Stoneham has a natural snow gathering bowl, and the remainder of the mountain follows a horseshoe.
This means that snow naturally gathers and stays on the trails, and the skiers have the bonus of skiing in a natural shelter.
The 321ski groups ski the resort over the week in combination with Monyt Sainte Anne, a larger local sister mountain. With a combined two mountain total of over 120 trails for the week every pupil can explore and challenge themselves, whatever their ability.
Stoneham Mountain Resort offers 43 trails, 2 snow parks and one Olympic size half pipe. There is also a intermediate boardercross course and an introduction park with 5 features.
At night Stoneham offers an impressive 19 lighted trail of 9.8 miles, all set within the natural horseshoe shelter of the mountain. This is one of the largest night skiing networks in Canada and our 321 groups frequently report this to eb one of their highlights of the school skiing trip.
Recent investment has provided more modern lifts and an ever increasing skiable terrain, and locally there is plenty of lively atmosphere.
